Internazionale beats Torino in Serie A and approaches the lead

Under heavy rain, Inter Milan beat Torino 2-0 this Sunday (11) in a match valid for the 36th round of the Italian Championship and closed in on Napoli at the top of the competition. In a match held at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, Torino lost its first home match in 2025. The goals of the match were scored by Zalewski and Asllani for Inter. With the victory, the Champions League finalist beats Napoli to stay alive in the fight for the title.

The game began with both teams studying each other. Until the 10th minute, there was little excitement in the match. In the 13th minute, however, Inter opened the scoring with a great goal from Nicola Zalewski, who drove down the left flank, cut inside and hit a shot from outside the area into the top corner. In the 25th minute, Masina saved Torino on the line after a well-organized counterattack by Inter Milan, in which Darmian received the ball alone and finished. Torino tried to equalize for the rest of the first half, but were unable to penetrate Inter Milan’s solid defense.

After a few minutes and referee tests to see the conditions of the pitch, the game was restarted to finish the first half. At 46′, goalkeeper Martínez performed a miracle and saved Inter Milan after a header by striker Adams, who dived to make a beautiful “diving” pass.

After a 30-minute break due to rain, the teams returned to the field to start the second half. In the first minute, Taremi created a bicycle kick and almost scored a great goal, requiring a good save from Milinkovic-Savic. In the next play, the Iranian invaded the penalty area and was awarded a penalty by the Torino goalkeeper. Asllani went for the ball and beat the goalkeeper to extend the score for the visitors: two to zero for Inter Milan.

In the 10th minute of the second half, Dimarco – who came on at half-time – received the ball alone inside the box and shot. Milinkovic-Savic saved Torino once again. In the 24th minute, the Torino goalkeeper made another series of saves. First, Correa received the ball one-on-one and missed. With the rebound, Calhanoglu shot and Milinkovic-Savic saved another. The scene repeated itself in the 43rd minute, when the goalkeeper saved another from Correa.
