Kelvin Yeboah’s family has a strong connection to football. Born Kelvin Kwarteng Yeboah on May 6, 2000, in Accra, Ghana, the Minnesota United striker moved to Italy with his family as a young child and grew up near Novara. Football was already deeply rooted in the Yeboah household, with his father playing in Italy’s lower divisions and his famous uncle, former Ghana international Tony Yeboah, becoming one of Kelvin’s biggest inspirations.
Kelvin’s father has been identified as Prince Yeboah, while his mother worked in a restaurant after the family settled in Italy. Kelvin grew up with four siblings: three brothers and one sister. His uncle Tony Yeboah is sometimes mistakenly described as his father, but Kelvin has personally clarified that Tony is his uncle, although their relationship is so close that he has called him “Daddy.” When it comes to Kelvin’s romantic life, there is currently no reliable public confirmation of a girlfriend, wife or children.
Who Are Kelvin Yeboah’s Parents?
Kelvin Yeboah was born to Ghanaian parents in Accra before moving with his family to Italy during his childhood. The family eventually settled in the Novara area of Piedmont, where Kelvin spent much of his formative years.
Reliable Italian and French football reporting has provided more information about his parents than is available for many professional players. His father has been identified as Prince Yeboah, a former lower-division footballer who later worked as a warehouse employee. Kelvin’s mother worked in a restaurant.
Although his parents did not enjoy the same high-profile football career as his uncle Tony Yeboah, their decision to relocate the family to Italy became crucial to Kelvin’s development both as a person and as a footballer.
Kelvin Yeboah’s Father – Prince Yeboah
Kelvin Yeboah’s father is Prince Yeboah. Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport identified Prince as Kelvin’s father and reported that he previously played football in Italy’s lower divisions.
Prince competed at levels including Serie C, Serie D and Eccellenza before eventually stepping away from the sport. According to the report, he decided that continuing in the lower divisions could not provide the financial stability he wanted for his family.
He subsequently worked as a warehouse employee in Bellinzago Novarese, near Novara.
Despite leaving competitive football, Prince remained closely involved in his son’s development. Kelvin has recalled his father regularly showing him videos of Tony Yeboah’s famous goals and explaining how he and Tony trained when they were younger.
How Kelvin Yeboah’s Father Influenced His Soccer Career
Prince Yeboah helped ensure football was a constant presence during Kelvin’s childhood.
Kelvin told GOAL that his father would play recordings of Tony Yeboah’s matches for him and his brothers. Watching their uncle score memorable goals in England and Germany gave the boys a real example of someone from their own family reaching the highest levels of the sport.
Prince was also involved in major decisions concerning Kelvin’s development. When one of Kelvin’s brothers moved to London to study, Prince believed England could also provide a useful football opportunity for Kelvin.
That decision helped lead to Kelvin moving to England as a teenager, where he spent time in West Ham United’s youth setup before continuing his career elsewhere.

Kelvin Yeboah’s mother has maintained a much more private profile, and her name has not been reliably published by the strongest football sources reviewed for this profile.
