LIVERPOOL – The iconic figure of Steven Gerrard is set to grace the Anfield turf once again. Liverpool FC officially confirmed this Friday that their legendary former captain will headline a star-studded Legends friendly against Borussia Dortmund on March 28.
Gerrard, who made 710 appearances and scored 186 goals across 17 seasons for the Reds, remains the ultimate idol for the Anfield faithful. Having led the club to that unforgettable Champions League triumph in 2005, Gerrard will once again pull on the red shirt alongside several familiar faces.
A Reunion of Heroes The squad list for the clash features a host of fan favorites, including goalkeepers Pepe Reina and Jerzy Dudek, defender Sami Hyypia, and midfielder Yossi Benayoun. Brazilian left-back Fábio Aurélio is also confirmed to return, alongside Martin Kelly and Gregory Vignal.

Commemorating a European Classic The match is a special nod to one of the most dramatic nights in the club’s recent European history: the 4-3 comeback victory against Borussia Dortmund in the 2016 Europa League quarter-finals.
