Newcastle’s summer signing Yoane Wissa will miss the upcoming matches due to a knee injury, manager Eddie Howe confirmed.

Wissa Sidelined After International Duty

Yoane Wissa, one of Newcastle’s key signings this season, was expected to make his debut this weekend. However, Howe revealed in a press conference that the striker is unable to play due to a knee issue.

“Yoane Wissa won’t be able to play this weekend. He has a knee injury, but I don’t know anything more than that. We only saw him for the first time yesterday,” Howe said.

The 26-year-old forward had played for the Congo national team during the FIFA international break, featuring in qualifiers against Sudan and Senegal. He left the second match feeling discomfort, which prompted the medical assessment.
