Arsenal could offload Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard in the January transfer window

Arsenal are considering selling Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard in January, as Mikel Arteta looks to reshape his squad and the club seeks to recoup part of its investment in the duo.

Arsenal Planning Winter Moves

According to Football Insider, both forwards are increasingly out of favor under Mikel Arteta and could be sacrificed when the transfer window reopens. Despite their contracts running until June 2027, Arsenal believe this could be the ideal time to sell rather than risk losing them later without financial return.

Leandro Trossard, 29, has played just 37 minutes in the Premier League this season and is no longer considered a key figure in the squad. Gabriel Jesus, 28, faces an even tougher scenario as he recovers from a torn cruciate ligament while competing with new signing Viktor Gyökeres for the No. 9 role.

Trossard Attracts Interest From Besiktas

While a January exit seems likely, Trossard could leave even sooner. Reports from Turkish outlet Sözcü claim Besiktas have targeted the Belgian winger, holding talks with Arsenal ahead of the Turkish transfer window closing on September 11. A quick agreement would be needed for any deal to materialize.

Gabriel Jesus Linked With Return to Brazil

Gabriel Jesus’ future is also uncertain. Despite ongoing speculation linking him with Palmeiras and Flamengo, no negotiations have advanced. The striker is expected to remain in the Premier League until at least January, but a move back to Brazil could become more concrete from 2026 onwards if he struggles to regain a place in Arteta’s plans.

Currently left off Arsenal’s Champions League roster, Jesus will need to fight for minutes upon his return from injury to avoid slipping further down the pecking order.
