PSG vs Barcelona: Dembélé ruled out, Doué still doubtful for Champions League clash

Paris Saint-Germain could face Barcelona without two important players. Ahead of the Champions League group stage, coach Luis Enrique has already lost Ousmane Dembélé and may also be without Doué, both injured while on international duty with France.

Dembélé Injured and Out for Six Weeks

During France’s 2-0 win over Ukraine in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, Dembélé suffered a serious right hamstring injury. According to French media, he will be sidelined for six weeks, which automatically rules him out of the match against his former club, Barcelona, on October 1st.

The injury comes shortly after the winger had just recovered from a left thigh issue, raising frustration inside PSG. He had been expected to rest but still played 36 minutes before being forced off.

Doué Still in Doubt for Barcelona Match

Midfielder Doué also picked up an injury in the same game, sustaining a right calf problem. His estimated recovery time is three to four weeks, leaving his presence against Barcelona uncertain. He played 45 minutes before being substituted.

PSG Furious With France’s Management

The situation has caused tension between PSG and the French Football Federation. According to Le Parisien, the club sent an official letter demanding new medical protocols between national teams and clubs to avoid similar cases in the future.

Executives at the French side are especially angry about Dembélé’s use, given his recent injury history and high risk of relapse.

PSG’s Champions League Schedule

  • September 17: PSG vs Atalanta – Parc des Princes – 4 p.m. (Brasília time)
  • October 1: Barcelona vs PSG – Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys – 4 p.m. (Brasília time)

The second game is one of the most anticipated clashes of the group stage, but PSG will likely arrive without Dembélé and possibly without Doué, reducing Luis Enrique’s options.
