Donnarumma reaches agreement with Manchester City, but demands salary of R$ 12 million

Manchester City has taken a major step toward signing Gianluigi Donnarumma, but financial details remain a sticking point. The Italian goalkeeper, set to leave Paris Saint-Germain, is the leading candidate to replace Ederson, who is on the verge of leaving the Etihad.

Salary Request Becomes Obstacle

According to TEAMtalk, Donnarumma has agreed to the move but is demanding €500,000 per week more than R$12 million per month. City’s board considers the request excessive and is unwilling to meet those terms. Unless the 25-year-old lowers his demands, the deal could collapse before the transfer window shuts.

City’s Goalkeeper Search Continues

Donnarumma hasn’t played for PSG in the 2025/26 season, with his last appearance coming in the Club World Cup final loss to Chelsea (3-0). Despite his availability, Manchester City is keeping other options open in case salary talks break down.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray has also asked about Donnarumma, while continuing to monitor Ederson’s situation.

Savinho Transfer Blocked

In parallel, Tottenham tried to secure Savinho from City in recent days, but the club rejected the offer. The Brazilian forward was keen on the move, but Guardiola’s staff ruled out his departure due to lack of time to find a replacement. Rodrygo (Real Madrid) is City’s first-choice backup target, though an agreement seems unlikely before the deadline.

City Under Pressure in Premier League

Manchester City’s on-field problems add urgency to the transfer window. Guardiola’s side lost again this weekend, falling 2-1 to Brighton despite taking the lead. Midfielder Rodri expressed frustration after the match, fueling the sense of crisis around the reigning champions.
