Real Madrid could lose Dani Ceballos to Olympique de Marseille, but Al-Ittihad is trying to bridge the gap in negotiations

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos is close to leaving the Bernabéu, with Olympique de Marseille leading the race for his signing. However, Saudi giants Al-Ittihad have stepped in with a lucrative offer to change the course of negotiations.

Marseille Leads, but Al-Ittihad Pushes Strongly

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Marseille has already presented a sporting project that convinced Ceballos, offering him a central role in their midfield rebuild. The 27-year-old is reportedly attracted to the opportunity of competing at a high level in Ligue 1.

Still, Al-Ittihad refuses to give up. The Saudi Pro League side has met with the player’s representatives and is trying to secure his signing with a financially superior contract and the promise of joining stars like Karim Benzema. Both clubs will meet Real Madrid’s board this Monday (25) in an attempt to finalize terms.

Why Al-Ittihad Wants Ceballos

Al-Ittihad’s midfield could see major changes in the coming weeks. N’Golo Kanté has been linked with Paris FC, while Fabinho’s future in Saudi Arabia remains uncertain. If either departs, Ceballos would arrive as a key starter, tasked with adding creativity and balance to the squad.

Real Madrid Facing Multiple Departures

While Ceballos edges closer to an exit, Real Madrid may also have to deal with other departures. Brazilian forward Rodrygo has drawn interest from Tottenham, managed by Thomas Frank. Despite starting in Xabi Alonso’s lineup against Real Oviedo, The Athletic reports that Rodrygo has already asked his agents to explore new options.

For now, Ceballos appears closer to Marseille, but Al-Ittihad’s financial power could still tip the balance in their favor. Real Madrid’s next few days will be decisive in shaping their midfield and attack for the season.
