Rúben Dias celebrates renewal with Manchester City: “I can’t imagine myself anywhere else”
Manchester City have confirmed the contract renewal of Rúben Dias until June 2029. The Portuguese defender, one of Pep Guardiola’s most trusted players, celebrated the extension and assured fans of his commitment to help the club win more trophies.
Defender thanks fans and vows commitment
In his first words after signing, Dias highlighted the support of the City fans as decisive: “I love Manchester. It’s my home now. Their support from day one has been incredible. When I think about the trophies we’ve won and the way we’ve played, I can’t imagine myself anywhere else.”
The 27-year-old also promised professionalism throughout his new contract: “My job now is to be the best I can be and do my part to help win more trophies.”
Guardiola’s trust and leadership at City
Football director Hugo Viana reinforced that Dias is “adored by Guardiola and the entire coaching staff”, praising his leadership and professionalism. The centre-back, in turn, thanked the trust received and said he is motivated to continue winning titles with the club.
Since arriving in 2020, Rúben Dias has lifted 10 trophies with Manchester City, including four Premier League titles, one Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Community Shield.
