Jack Grealish to join Everton on season-long loan following Manchester City exit

Manchester City and Everton have reached a full agreement for the season-long loan of Jack Grealish, marking the winger’s departure from Pep Guardiola’s squad after a challenging campaign. According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is already finalized, with Grealish set to undergo medical examinations today (11) before the move is made official later this week.
The 29-year-old England international has accepted Everton’s sporting project and is expected to play a central role under manager David Moyes. His arrival aims to bolster the Toffees’ attacking options as the club looks to improve on last season’s Premier League performance.
From record signing to exit door
Grealish joined Manchester City in 2021 in a high-profile transfer, quickly becoming one of the league’s most talked-about players. However, after a promising debut season, his form dipped, leading to reduced minutes and uncertainty over his future. The 2024–25 season proved decisive, as Guardiola opted to leave him out of his long-term plans during a summer squad overhaul.
With a contract at City until July 2027, the winger will now look to revive his career in Merseyside, where he is expected to have a more prominent role than in his final seasons in Manchester.
Possible further changes in City’s attack
Grealish’s move may not be the only change in Manchester City’s wide options. Tottenham Hotspur have shown strong interest in Brazilian winger Savinho, who arrived at the Etihad last season. Spurs are reportedly in talks to secure the 20-year-old as a key piece in Thomas Frank’s system, with negotiations ongoing in the coming days.
If completed, both departures would mark significant changes in Guardiola’s offensive setup ahead of the new campaign.
