Manchester United could sell Onana, Sancho and Garnacho to finance Donnarumma deal

Manchester United is considering a bold transfer move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, with the Premier League club prepared to sell André Onana, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho to fund the deal, according to reports from Fichajes.
The Red Devils are aiming to strengthen their squad for the 2025/26 season and view Donnarumma as a potential long-term solution between the posts. The Italian international has emerged as a priority for manager Rúben Amorim, who is pushing for a new first-choice goalkeeper.
Major Departures Expected to Fund Transfer
To facilitate Donnarumma’s arrival, Manchester United is ready to part ways with three high-profile players:
- André Onana, the current starting goalkeeper, could be sold if a strong offer arrives. Despite being a regular starter since his arrival from Inter Milan, his performances have been inconsistent, leading the club to consider alternatives.
- Jadon Sancho, who returned from a lackluster loan spell at Chelsea, is completely out of Amorim’s plans. The 25-year-old winger is being monitored by Borussia Dortmund, where he previously had his most successful stint.
- Alejandro Garnacho, one of United’s most promising young stars, may also be sacrificed. Despite contributing 11 goals and 11 assists in 58 appearances last season, the Argentine has reportedly not convinced the new coaching staff. Chelsea is among the interested clubs.
PSG Open to Selling Donnarumma
PSG is reportedly open to negotiating Donnarumma’s departure during this summer transfer window. While the 26-year-old Italian remains one of Europe’s top goalkeepers, the Parisian club is exploring other tactical options under new management.
Valued at around €60–70 million, Donnarumma would represent a major investment one that United is willing to make by raising funds through player sales.
United Reach Agreement with Sesko
As part of their broader rebuild, Manchester United has already reached an agreement with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško. The Slovenian forward impressed in the Bundesliga and was also targeted by Newcastle and Chelsea.
The coming weeks promise to be crucial for United as they reshape their squad ahead of the new season with high-profile exits and signings on the horizon.
