The Colombian veteran signs a one-year deal as Pisa return to Italy’s top flight

Juan Cuadrado is set to continue his long career in Italian football after agreeing to join newly promoted Pisa SC, marking his seventh Serie A club. The 37-year-old Colombian was a free agent following his departure from Atalanta, where his contract expired at the end of last season.

Experienced Veteran Brings Leadership to Pisa

According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Cuadrado has signed a one-season contract valid until June 2026, aiming to inject experience and technical prowess into Pisa’s squad. The club views the signing as strategic, particularly as they return to Italy’s top division and look to establish themselves among the elite.

Cuadrado has previously featured for Udinese, Lecce, Fiorentina, Juventus, Inter Milan, and Atalanta, making Pisa his seventh club in Serie A—a rare milestone even among seasoned professionals.

Cuadrado Still Fit and Versatile at 37

Despite his age, Cuadrado remains in top physical condition and is known for his versatility. He can operate as a right-back, winger, or attacking midfielder, offering tactical flexibility. His speed, dribbling, and vision in transition play are expected to be key assets for Pisa’s survival and progress in Serie A.

His extensive big-club experience brings a much-needed dose of leadership and locker room presence, with many in the club believing he could play a crucial mentoring role for younger teammates.

A Career Built on Consistency and Class

Cuadrado has made 538 professional appearances, scoring 55 goals and registering 93 assists across his career. These statistics underscore his influence not only in the final third but also in build-up play a dual threat that has made him one of Colombia’s most respected exports in Europe over the past 15 years.

Outside of Italy, Cuadrado had a brief stint with Chelsea in the Premier League following his standout performances for Fiorentina, but quickly returned to Italy, where he spent the bulk of his career at Juventus.
