Al-Nassr targets Brazilian defender Alexsandro in €40 million transfer

Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr are reportedly preparing a move for Lille defender Alexsandro, a recent surprise inclusion in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil national team. The transfer could cost the club between €30 million and €40 million, according to TNT Sports Brasil.

The move is part of Al-Nassr’s first transfer window under head coach Jorge Jesus, who has made Alexsandro a priority signing to strengthen the club’s defensive line ahead of the new Saudi Pro League season.

Jorge Jesus Pushes for Defensive Reinforcement

Jorge Jesus, who officially took charge of the Riyadh-based club this summer, has identified the 25-year-old Brazilian as an ideal fit for his system. Sources say the coach made a direct request to the board to open negotiations with Lille, where Alexsandro currently plays.

The player’s strong performances in Ligue 1 over the 2024/25 season have earned him widespread recognition, culminating in his call-up to Brazil’s national team a move that surprised many, given his previously low profile.

Ancelotti’s Surprise Pick Shines for Brazil

Alexsandro impressed during Brazil’s recent FIFA World Cup qualifying victory over Paraguay, helping secure a 1-0 win in which Vinicius Junior scored the decisive goal. His composure and tactical discipline drew praise online, especially from fans unfamiliar with his rise in European football.

Though relatively unknown to casual viewers, Alexsandro has long been considered a rising talent in France. His inclusion in the national team marked a turning point in his career, placing him on the radar of major European clubs Arsenal reportedly among them.

Luiz Henrique Also on Al-Nassr’s Radar

In addition to Alexsandro, Al-Nassr are reportedly monitoring Zenit winger Luiz Henrique, currently one of the most talked-about Brazilian players in European football. The Saudi side, which recently completed the signing of João Félix, is expected to formalize a bid for Luiz Henrique in the coming days.

The club is not hiding its ambitions this summer and is willing to spend big under Jorge Jesus’ leadership in a bid to challenge both domestically and on the continental stage.
