Luis Díaz comments on leaving Liverpool for Bayern Munich for the first time

Colombian winger Luis Díaz has spoken publicly for the first time since completing his high-profile transfer from Liverpool to Bayern Munich. The €75 million deal, finalized earlier this week, makes him Bayern’s most expensive signing of the summer transfer window.
Emotional Message Marks New Chapter
In a statement shared via his official social media account on Wednesday (July 30), Díaz expressed excitement about joining the Bundesliga giants.
“I am very grateful and happy to join you all, and I feel the same enthusiasm today as I did when I was starting my career,” wrote the 27-year-old.
The Colombian forward, now wearing the number 14 shirt, also pledged to give his all for his new team.
“You can be sure of one thing: I will do my best to help Bayern achieve all their dreams,” he added.
Díaz Becomes Bayern’s Most Expensive Signing of the Window
Díaz’s move from Anfield to the Allianz Arena was sealed for approximately €75 million (R$477 million), surpassing the club’s other recent additions, including Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischof.
His signing is seen as a strategic move to reinforce Bayern’s left wing and inject renewed pace and creativity into the squad following a trophyless 2023/24 season.
Four-Year Contract and Salary Details
According to Capology, Díaz signed a four-year contract that runs until June 30, 2029. He is set to earn approximately €269,000 per week—around €14 million per year (R$89 million)—placing him among the club’s top earners.
Successful Spell at Liverpool Comes to an End
Díaz leaves Liverpool after nearly four years at the club, during which he became a fan favorite and helped the team win multiple trophies under Jürgen Klopp. His departure marks the end of an era for the Reds and the start of a new journey in the Bundesliga.
